AQUILLA, Texas (KWTX) - After preparing for a week, Aquilla ISD welcomed the Texas Education Agency’s Commissioner to their campus early Wednesday morning.
TEA Commissioner Mike Morath toured classrooms, meeting teachers and students while learning about the school’s history and plans for future upgrades planned for Fall 2026.
Commissioner Morath requested to see the school district after hearing about what they have achieved in the past year.
Aquilla ISD received an ‘A’ rating for their school district last year, despite 52 percent of their students coming from an economically disadvantaged background.
