Authorities report 'potential threat' involving Laurel County school, area security increased

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Laurel County Sheriff's Office reports that a "potential threat" has been shared by a parent on social media involving North Laurel Middle School.

Authorities are working to school police to "ensure the safety of all students and staff," they report.

An increase in police in the area and patrols will occur as a precaution.
