The artist behind Fort Wayne's newest and largest mural joined local leaders today for a dedication ceremony that was followed by a hard hat preview tour of a nearby mixed-use, mixed-income residential development, a news release said.

Titled "Echoes of the Future," the unfinished mural spans 15,000 square feet on the Union Parking Garage at Electric Works. It is expected to be completed by Oct. 3, said Alexandra Hall, who is consulting on the project.

Damien Mitchell, an Australian native, created the public artwork with support from local artist apprentices Hannah Boersema, Bernadette Fellows and Chrystel Lopez, the release said.

The mural incorporates the natural world and urban landscape, Mitchell said.
