CHELSEA, Mass. —

Police are investigating after one person was shot in Norwood Wednesday evening.

Norwood police officers responded to the area of Columbine and Woodbine roads after receiving several calls of shots fired.

911 callers also mentioned that a car was seen driving away from the area.

A search by officers did not turn up the car, but a short time later, another 911 caller said there was a shooting victim in a car at a gas station near Dean Street and Route 1.

First aid was rendered to the victim, who was taken via ambulance to a nearby hospital. The victim's condition is unknown.

The shooting is under investigation. Anyone with more information is asked to call Norwood police at 781-440-5100.
