LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A Louisville Metro Police Department officer is being remembered for her strength and passion after her unexpected death.

Angela Embry Jr. died by suicide on Sept. 18, sending shockwaves through the Louisville community.

Shifting the focus from how the 32-year-old died, loved ones are choosing to honor the life she lived.

“Her energy was electric, I can't even explain how electric it was,” said Thelma Kennedy, owner of Derby City Dynamite and Embry’s friend.

A Moore High School grad, Angie is remembered as quiet, compassionate, supportive and a natural-born leader known for making many laugh.

She poured into her community as a five-year veteran police officer in the LMPD's 6th Division.
