COLUMBIA, S.C. — A Newberry County man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges related to the sexual abuse of minors, the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office announced.
Officials say Trevor Grant Oty, 22, pled guilty on July 10, 2025, in Lexington County General Sessions Court to two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree, one count of sexual exploitation of a minor in the first degree, and one count of criminal solicitation of a minor in the first degree.
Judge Debra R. McCaslin handed down the sentence, classifying the crimes as violent and most serious offenses under South Carolina law. Oty will also be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.
The case began on July 9, 2024, when the Lexington County Sheriff’s Dep
