BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The inmate who allegedly escaped from Kern County sheriff's deputies, over the weekend, faced the music in court.

He and an alleged accomplice, charged with aiding him, were arraigned in court together on Wednesday.   23-year-old Francisco Garcia still is to be sentenced 80 years to life on attempted murder charges just next week for a gang-related shooting that took place in 2021. He allegedly made a break for freedom Saturday night and he ran from deputies while at an appointment at Kern Medical.

He was found Monday evening at a home off Panama Road in Lamont.

20-year-old Elektra Espinoza is charged with aiding his escape.

KCSO named another accomplice 32-year-old Jasmine Morales, but she is not listed in custody or was charged.
