KNOXVILLE, TN. (WATE) — The Tennessee men’s basketball team reloaded this offseason, and the Vols believe they’ve assembled a roster capable of making a third consecutive trip to the Elite Eight, or perhaps even further.
One of the most notable additions is a name familiar to East Tennessee. Head coach Rick Barnes and his staff struck gold in the transfer portal with Maryland standout guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie, a Greeneville native who began his collegiate career at Belmont.
With Tennessee’s backcourt undergoing major changes, the 6'1 senior will be counted on not only to contribute on the court, but to help lead the Vols in their postseason push.
