YOUNGSTOWN Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) thanked 13 public university presidents on Wednesday for responding to his letter urging them to protect their Jewish students from antisemitism.

In early September of 2025, Moreno sent letters to the presidents of Ohio's 14 public universities, urging them to take action. As of September 24, 13 schools have responded so far, including Youngstown State University (YSU).

Moreno said the rise of antisemitism in higher education is unacceptable and praised university leaders for detailing how they plan to ensure campuses remain safe for all students.

YSU responded in a letter to Senator Moreno on the changes and policies the university has implemented to protect Jewish students on campus.
