SAN JUAN COUNTY, N.M. —

A felony arrest was made after a law enforcement vehicle was damaged in northwest New Mexico.

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office said state police were working to arrest suspect Nathaniel Atencio. That response led to him crashing into a patrol vehicle and running from the area.

However, a SJCSO deputy was able to use aerial surveillance to spot Atencio in a remote area hiding. He was eventually taken into custody once deputies arrived there on the ground.

One of the several felony warrants accuses Atencio of incest of a minor, according to law enforcement.
