COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- The Columbus Crew will be without one of their most dynamic players as the club fights to keep playoff hopes alive.
Forward Wessam Abou Ali will be out the next six weeks with a hairline fracture in his right ankle, which means he will miss the remainder of the regular season. He got hurt in the first half during Saturday's match against Toronto FC, where he scored the Crew's lone goal in the 1-1 draw, marking his third goal in as many games.
"This is a weird season. Not because of the results but because of all the injuries that we have," head coach Wilfried Nancy said. "This is new for me. I see that it's not easy. I will not lie but at the same time this is something that I take the challenge."
