HARAHAN, La. — A Jefferson Parish Schools teacher was arrested at Harahan Elementary, according to the district spokesperson.
The employee has been identified as Teran James.
In a statement, JP Schools said James has been placed on leave pending an investigation.
“We are aware that an employee of Jefferson Parish Schools was arrested at Harahan Elementary,” the district said in a statement. “The employee has been placed on leave pending an investigation. We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement in this matter. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.”
