MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Tropical Storm Humberto formed in the Atlantic today. This makes the 8th named storm in the Atlantic basin this year.
As of this writing, the storm had max wind of 45 miles per hour, and was moving to the west, northwest at 12 miles per hour.
We will continue to monitor this storm as its forecast path takes it close to the United States into early next week.
We are also monitoring a disturbance near Puerto Rico that now has an 80 percent chance of formation over the next 7 days.
This disturbance and Tropical Storm Humberto could interact over the weekend.
