NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Invest 93L has strengthened into Tropical Storm Humberto this afternoon. Satellite imagery shows the system becoming better organized, with a clear center of circulation and clusters of storms mostly on its eastern side. Maximum sustained winds are now estimated at 40 mph, making it a tropical storm.

Humberto is moving toward the west-northwest at about 15 mph, though its exact motion is still a little uncertain since the center has only recently developed. Over the next few days, the storm should continue generally west-northwest to northwest.
