LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Today, KTRE got a quick look at the Naranjo Museum’s new playground, which is set to open soon.

The new playground is fenced, will feature 10 picnic tables for families to sit and relax, and will include a path to facilitate easier access for individuals with strollers or those with limited mobility.

Erin Gentry, the museum’s director, said that this is something they have been working on for years, and they’re excited to show members a “behind-the-scenes look” this Saturday.

“We need safe places to bring our children, we need safe places for our children to play, and the museum has worked very hard over the past couple of years to put together not only a playground but a fenced park area where families can come to sit, enjoy a meal,” Gentry said.
