Time machines, "corny" towns and moving monologues are lighting up stages across Metro Detroit this theater season.

From professional, high-tech production to scrappy, community shows that make you think, the 2025-26 season is full of entertaining titles, including new shows and trusty classics and a few interesting gems in between.

One of the new shows coming through is "Shucked," which is part of Broadway in Detroit's subscription series and lands at the Fisher Theatre over the late December holidays.

"It's a comedy musical. There's a love interest, there's the fact that the people in Cobb County aren't familiar with the way the rest of the world works, there's that comedy element and then it's all about corn — it's literally corny," said Broadway in Detroit's marketing director Scott
