LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Lansing Everett is off to a 4-0 start to the football season, and one of the biggest reasons for their success is senior running back Javari Funches, who hit the 1,000 yard mark on the season in his last outing.
In the Vikings last game against Lansing Waverly, Funches went for 226 yards and three rushing touchdowns as well as a receiving touchdown. While he may carry much of the load for his team's offense he says he's more than prepared when he is given the ball.
"I feel like when I step on the field, my mindset just go in a different way," said Funches. "I feel like no one can mess with me. So like when I step on the field, I know my lineman got my back so I'm just out there doing what I do and I feel like under pressure I make diamonds."
