The Vancouver Canucks had to finish their second pre-season game without Nils Hoglander.
The team announced ahead of the third period that the forward would not return to the game. Canucks coach Adam Foote said after the game that Hoglander suffered a lower-body injury and was being evaluated.
Hoglander, 24, was playing in his second pre-season game after suiting up on Sunday for the exhibition opener against the Seattle Kraken. Through two periods on Wednesday, the winger had a goal, scored on the power play.
Hoglander is heading into his sixth NHL season, looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2024-25 campaign where he had just eight goals and 25 points in 72 games.
He had his most productive season in 2023-24, where he scored 24 goals and had 12 assists in 80 games.
