HEADLINE VICTORIAN CRIME STATISTICS:

* 638,640 offences recorded in the year to the end of June 2025, up 15.7 per cent

* Recorded offences per 100,000 people was 8999, up 13.8 per cent

* 483,583 criminal incidents, up 18.3 per cent to highest point since reporting began in 2004/05

* More than 77,500 arrests

* 5400 people have been charged 10 times or more, accounting for 40 per cent of total crime

* 1128 offenders aged 10 to 17 arrested a combined 7118 times

* 28,482 motor vehicle thefts, equating to 78 each day or one every 18 minutes

* 41,667 retail store theft offences, up 27.6 per cent

* 64,713 family violence order breaches, up 16.7 per cent

KEY BAIL STATISTICS:

* 18.4 per cent increase in Magistrates Court bail applications in the past 12 months

* Bail refusals rose 48 pe
