An East Perth “Meet the Candidate” event for the City of Perth council elections became messy after claims of “disrespectful” interactions between candidates and community members during presentations and question time.

The event at the Perth Bowling and Recreation Club on Plain Street in East Perth last Tuesday was posted on social media yesterday.

It was open to all ratepayers in the City of Perth. Candidates for both councillor and Lord Mayor positions were invited to present and answer residents’ questions.

During public question time at the end of the night, an East Perth resident directed her question to Viktor Ko, who is seeking re-election as a councillor and also the Lord Mayor position.
