A cyberattack brought Jaguar Land Rover’s global production lines to a halt and is now spiralling into a major financial crisis for the luxury carmaker — and by extension, its parent company, Tata Motors.

While the company has not officially quantified the financial impact of the production halt, The Financial Times estimates the losses could reach £2 billion — a figure worsened by a reported lack of cyber insurance — while BBC reports suggest JLR is losing £50 million a week, with many of its 33,000 staff reportedly told to stay home.
