EL CENTRO — Former California State Controller Betty Yee has thrown her hat into the race for Governor of California. Yee sat down with Imperial Valley Press for a Q and A about her campaign.

Q: Ms. Yee, what are your top three priorities for running? Why are they the most urgent in California right now?

A: “Well, California has been challenged by a lot of different things, but I would say everywhere I travel in California, it's the affordability crisis, just the high costs of living here, mainly driven by housing costs. But as I've been in different regions of the state, I also think that we've not been as ambitious in terms of elevating our global economy to grow it in ways that can help our different regions.
