The Patriots have been raw to start the Mike Vrabel era.
New England has been able to move the football — they’re 11th in total offense — but scoring has been a different story, as New England sits 22nd with 20 points per game. Too often, the young team’s giveaways have kept them from cashing in.
That was painfully apparent in last week’s loss to the Steelers, as two of New England’s whopping five turnovers came at the Pittsburgh 2-yard line. They’ve got potential, but Vrabel’s team needs to clean it up.
Every week, a MassLive sportswriter will pick the result of the upcoming Patriots game and I’ve been tasked with the Week 4 matchup with Carolina in Foxborough.
