The Kadugodi police have arrested a 38-year-old civil engineer for stealing gold valuables from his colleague’s house to repay the loan he had incurred .

The accused Manjunath,native of Jevargi and resident of Ayyappa Nagar was living with his wife and children.

He was arrested based on the CCTV footage verified by the police and cross checked with the owner of the house before zero in on him.

According to the police Manjunath used to visit the house of his friend and colleague and noticed the valuables kept in the house.

He had borrowed personal loan worth Rs.30 lakh and unable to pay he decided to rob his friend.As per the plan he got to know that his friend is going to visit the temple with family on Ganesha festival.
