SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- By early next year, South Euclid residents may be legally permitted to add to their property an ADU.

What is an ADU? It is an accessory dwelling unit, a smaller home that would allow space for multiple generations to live on the same property.

City Council, during its meeting Tuesday (Sept. 23), heard the first reading of legislation that could lead to the construction of ADUs on residential properties. Much discussion will be held before ADUs are permitted, as the legislation was moved to the city’s Planning & Zoning Commission for consideration at its Oct. 9 meeting.
