Sydney Thunder have landed the first-ever Indian men’s international cricketer to play in the Big Bash, signing megastar spinner Ravi Ashwin in a massive coup for the franchise and competition.
Ashwin, who announced his Test match retirement during a tour of Australia last summer, has signed a bumper deal to join former Australian antagonist David Warner at Thunder.
The offie will join the league in January and will be available for a finals campaign should the Sydney-based team qualify.
