Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse senior defensive analyst Kevin Coyle is leaving the program for UCLA, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times reports.

Coyle, 69, will join the Bruins’ staff after the firing of head coach Deshaun Foster and departure of defensive coordinator Ikaika Malloe .

Coyle brought a veteran presence to Syracuse’s defensive staff having previously been a defensive coordinator with Syracuse, two other Division I programs and in the NFL.

Coyle was the defensive coordinator at Syracuse from 1991 to 1993, working on the early staffs of former head coach Paul Pasqualoni. In more than four decades of coach, he has also served as a defensive coordinator with Holy Cross, Fresno State, Maryland and the Miami Dolphins.
