PIKETON, Ohio — Centrus Energy announced plans on Thursday for a multi-billion dollar expansion of its uranium enrichment plant in Pike County.
According to a release from the company, the expansion is expected to create 1,000 construction jobs and 300 new operational jobs at the site in Piketon.
Centrus Energy is a supplier of nuclear fuel and services for the nuclear power industry, according to the company’s website.
The company says the size and scope of the expansion depend on federal funding decisions from the U.S. Department of Energy for LEU and HALEU.
