CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - One man is dead after being shot in Chesterfield early Thursday morning.

Chesterfield County Police say crews responded to the 12300 block of Moores Lake Road just after 4 a.m. for reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.

Police say they found one victim, a man, who had multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say there is currently no threat to the community.
