Former Watsonians and Edinburgh Rugby player Iain Sinclair, 48, is pictured after becoming the first to swim the entire length of the Caledonian canal which links the Atlantic Ocean with the North Sea.
Iain completed the feat – eight days in the water at approximately six hours per day – in memory of Jenny Hastings who took her life last year after two decades suffering from mental health issues.
Jenny’s husband, Scott Hastings, the former Scotland and Lions centre, was in Inverness to greet Iain at the conclusion of his marathon which so far has raised over £63,000 for Crohn’s & Colitis UK, British Heart Foundation and Mikeysline, a mental health and suicide prevention charity based in the highlands.
