ACTION: Requested assistance from the Regional Planning Commission to acquire three commercial properties.

DISCUSSION : The trustees voted to request the commission to send notices to the landowners for back taxes due and begin the foreclosure process if the taxes continue to go unpaid. When the properties are foreclosed, Jackson Township becomes the owner and can take steps to resell each of the properties.

In recent months, the township has sought to acquire three local single-family homes and properties. The new properties are zoned commercial, and all three have vacant commercial buildings. All property owners owe significant amounts of back taxes.
