All Creatures Great and Small's Callum Woodhouse has revealed that things "aren't all OK" for his character in the new series of the drama.

The actor is reprising his role as Tristan Farnon in the sixth series of the Channel 5 period drama , which is set in Yorkshire and follows vet James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph) and his life. And Callum has dropped a few hints about what fans of the hit series might expect from the show's new run , which starts today (September 25).

In the series, Tristan has served in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps and was stationed in Cairo, Egypt, for a time.

Speaking to the Radio Times, the actor, 31, said that Tristan has "been back on the frontlines" and that he has "certainly seen more than his fair share of tragedy and atrocities". View 3 Images
