PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) -- Peoria High and Normal West are going through final preparations before their big football game Friday night.

The Lions (3-1) and Wildcats (2-2) are preparing for a wild game. Because the last couple times they've met, the games have produced memorable results.

Last year West scored late and beat the Lions 20-18. In 2023, The Lions beat the Wildcats in a shootout, 62-41, but would vacate that victory at the end of the season when it was determined Peoria High used an ineligible player during the season.

"Ever since they came into the conference, it's always been an exciting game. A game you look forward to," said West head coach Nathan Fincham. "The process for us every year is that it's a completely different game you have to prepare for."
