DURHAM, CT (WFSB) - The 105th annual Durham Fair plans to open its gates Thursday afternoon.

Channel 3 is keeping an eye on the forecast to see if heavy will impact the festivities.

The fair officially kicks off at 4 p.m.

This year’s event features a variety of food and live music, including a weekend performance by legendary rock band Styx .

Fairgoers can also check out a couple of record-breaking pumpkins.

One of them, which was grown in New York, weighed more than 2,000 pounds.

The fair’s pumpkin drop was scheduled for Thursday night.

Also Thursday night, the demolition derby.

The fair runs through Sunday, Sept. 28.
