MISSOULA — Cannon Panfiloff loves Metallica's music.
The Montana offensive lineman looks like he'd fit right in on stage with a metal band as he rocks long, flowing, shoulder-length hair. Even with the trademark look, he often gets asked a different question first because he stands at 6-foot-6 and 294 pounds: What sport do you play?
He plays football and is now in his senior season of college holding down the left tackle position for the Grizzlies. For him, metal music and offensive line play share some hardwired tendencies that he has enjoyed while successfully riding the lightning wherever he has roamed in a winding journey.
"That's kind of what the O-line is, just the tough, gritty ferociousness," he said ahead of No. 5 Montana's Big Sky Conference opener against No. 8
