WESTFIELD — Mayor Michael McCabe has announced that applications are now open for the Volunteer of the Year Awards. This prestigious award aims to honor individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and impact through their volunteer efforts to better strengthen the community.

For the second year, the city is partnering with the Extra Mile America Foundation to celebrate “Extra Mile Day;” a national initiative that acknowledges and shows appreciation to those who ‘go the extra mile’ to make their community a better place. In celebration of this day, the Volunteer of the Year Awards will be presented to two exceptional “Extra Mile Heroes.”
