New Delhi: As the new GST reforms were rolled out on September 22, 2025, the very first day of new tax regime saw unprecedented rise in online digital payments and high end consumption of goods items during the ongoing Navratri new tax regime.

The data from Reserve Bank of India (RBI) showed that the total value of transaction across electronic payment platforms surged to more than Rs 11 lakh crore on Monday recording 10 times increase in the transaction done of Rs 1.18 lakh crore on the previous day. The surge was observed on Tuesday too with payments totaling Rs 11.19 lakh crores raising the hopes of the sustained momentum.
