This thing is called a survivor pool for a reason, and the title never felt more appropriate than it did in Week 3 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers squandered a 17-point fourth-quarter lead to make us sweat out what should have been an easy win over the Jets. Their walk-off win on a 36-yard Chase McLaughlin field goal was the definition of surviving.

Going into Week 4, I don't have the stomach for another game like that, so we're going with something that's hopefully more of a sure bet; the Buffalo Bills at home against the New Orleans Saints. With a spread of 15.5 points, anything other than a big Bills win would be a stunner. We deserve to breathe a little this week.

Which team is the best Survivor Pool pick for Week 4?

Pick: Bills

This pick doesn't need much explaining. The Bills are a contender to win the AFC and the Saints might be the worst team in the NFL. That's the long and short of it. For those wondering why I wouldn't save the Bills for later, it's a fair question. The biggest reason is how much upset potential I see in the next-best options. For example, the Chargers should be a good pick, but they're traveling East for an early game against a Giants team rejuvenated by Jaxson Dart's debut. Who knows how that might go. And I can come up with reasons why other big favorites could lose too. I can't fathom how Buffalo will lose.

Alternatives: Chargers, Packers, Lions, Broncos
