U.S. Rep. Nick Begich III visited Fairbanks on Wednesday, filling his day with visits around town.

Three of his underpublicized appearances were marked by pop-up demonstrations with protesters who were frustrated that the congressman wouldn’t hold a town hall or listening session.

The republican representative came to the Interior from Bethel, part of an ongoing state tour. He won’t be holding any town halls this time, according to his Fairbanks Regional Director Leslie Hajdukovich.

However, he did have a jam packed day beginning with speaking to realtors in the morning, recording the Problem Corner radio show on KFAR, meeting with the Alaska Outdoor Council, visiting the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute and finishing up by mingling with miners.
