(NewsNation) — Russia on Thursday issued a new round of threats against the United States and Ukraine, warning that Moscow retains "long-range" weapons capable of breaching any defensive measures.

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia, wrote on social media that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should "remember that Russia can use weapons and a bomb shelter won't protect against."

He added, "Americans should also keep this in mind."

The remarks come as the Kremlin escalates its rhetoric amid Ukraine's continued resistance and sustained Western military support. Medvedev, who previously served as Russia’s president and prime minister, has used threatening language in response to the U.S., particularly when commenting on Western involvement in the war.
