LITTLE ELM, Texas — NASA this week announced 10 astronaut candidates chosen from more than 8,000 applicants from across the U.S. and at least two have North Texas connections.

The astronaut candidates have to finish two years of training before they're eligible for flight assignments supporting future missions to low Earth orbit, the Moon, and Mars.

Acting NASA Administrator Sean Duffy welcomed the 2025 NASA astronaut candidate class during an event at Johnson Space Center in Houston. It's the agency's 24th astronaut class.
