A shooting incident in Gibsons has left a dog dead and the community feeling unsettled. The event occurred on Friday, September 19, just before 5 p.m. Two men reportedly fired multiple shots into a home located on Boyle Road, resulting in the death of a dog inside the residence.
The Sunshine Coast RCMP responded to the scene but have not yet apprehended the suspects, who fled the area in a light-colored sedan. Authorities believe the shooting was targeted.
In light of the incident, the RCMP is urging anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in witnesses, as well as any security or dashcam footage that may have captured the events. The police are asking residents in the vicinity of Boyle and Parker roads, as well as those on North Road between Stewart Road and Marine Drive, to check their cameras for any suspicious activity.
Additionally, drivers who were in the area between 4 and 5 p.m. on September 19 and have dashcam footage are encouraged to contact the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266. The police are actively seeking assistance to help solve this case.
