(WFSB) - It may still feel like summer, but the winter months are coming soon.
This year, the cost of heating a home could be on the rise.
A new report from the National Energy Assistance Directors Association showed that heating costs are rising faster than the rate of inflation.
How much the average bill would be depends on what is used to heat the home.
According to the report, homes that use electricity and natural gas will see the biggest impacts.
“I live in a one-bedroom condo so it’s not that bad, it’s probably maybe $150 a month,” said Barbara Ghent of Rocky Hill.
In the northeast, it will cost an average of about 3 percent more to heat a home, the report said.
