PHOENIX - Change is ahead! Yesterday the high temperature reached 107 degrees in Phoenix. It will again be warm Thursday afternoon with a high of 106 expected.

Today:

While it will be warm again, conditions will be changing through the afternoon. After a dry start around the state, showers and thunderstorms begin firing up into the afternoon. Parts of the higher elevations from the Kaibab Plateau, through Flagstaff, down the Rim, and into eastern/southeastern Arizona will see stormy weather. These thunderstorms may pack a punch – with heavy rain, lightning, larger hail, and damaging winds possible. Some blowing dust may kick up and push toward the Valley, where we'll see between a 10-30% chance of showers or storms heading into the late afternoon/early evening.
