Former Derby County analyst Pete Shuttleworth has joined Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Owls boss Henrik Pedersen has confirmed the "numbers nerd" has made the switch to Hillsborough following his exit from Plymouth Argyle.

Shuttleworth was one of Wayne Rooney's most trusted lieutenants during his time at Derby and took him to DC United, Birmingham and Plymouth.

Rooney is now indulging in TV punditry work after leaving Argyle, but Shuttleworth is continuing his coaching career and Pedersen believes it will be a good fit.

"First of all, he's a great human, a strong human and a good personality," said Pedersen.

"From the football side, he's really good to see the game.
