Leh : Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has dismissed allegations by the Union Home Ministry that he provoked the violent clashes in Ladakh this week, calling the claim a “scapegoat tactic” to deflect from deeper problems in the region.
Speaking to PTI on Thursday, the activist said he was prepared to be jailed under the Public Safety Act, but warned that imprisoning him might “cause the government more problems than a free Sonam Wangchuk.”
The remarks came a day after four people were killed and at least 80 injured, including 40 police personnel, in the worst outbreak of violence in Ladakh since 1989.
