Florida State School dads support their students with annual walking school bus event

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Florida State University School held its annual walking school bus event with students’ fathers.

The event was held in Southwood at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, as dads poured out to walk their children to school.

FSUS thanked the fathers who joined the event on their Facebook page .

“Your presence and support make a powerful difference in our students’ lives, and we are grateful for the strong example you set every day.”

According to the Florida Department of Transportation website , a walking school bus helps students remember rules for walking and biking safely. “Training children how to be competent and safer pedestrians and bicyclists gives them lifelong safety skills they will use throughout their lives,” the department said.
