MARKSVILLE, La. (WNTZ) – A corrections captain with the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies following an internal investigation into a fight at the parish jail, authorities announced Wednesday.

Roslin Finister, 59, of Cottonport, is charged with tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice, and malfeasance in office involving sexual conduct with offenders.

According to the sheriff’s office, the Criminal Investigations Unit launched an investigation on Aug. 27 after a physical altercation occurred at Detention Center No. 1. Investigators said Finister had allegedly committed several crimes while serving as an APSO deputy and full-time captain.
