MINONG, Wis. (WFRV) — A 29-year-old Wisconsin man was taken into custody Wednesday after a standoff with law enforcement that followed a reported weapons offense the day before.
According to the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Tuesday to a call about a weapons offense in the Village of Minong. Investigators said Brady Sikorski, 29, drove to a residence and got into a verbal altercation with a man there. As Sikorski drove away, two gunshots were reportedly heard. Deputies recovered physical evidence of a shooting at the scene.
Deputies later located Sikorski’s vehicle at his residence in Minong and surrounded the home. Special Response Teams from Washburn, Sawyer, and Burnett counties attempted to call him out and later deployed irritant gas, but he was not found insi
