BANGOR, Maine — A teenager from Brewer is accused of driving a vehicle that was reported stolen then fleeing Bangor police officers who attempted to stop him Wednesday morning.

A Bangor police officer saw a vehicle on Main Street that apparently matched the description of a vehicle that was reported stolen in Brewer. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled after coming to a brief stop, Bangor police said in a news release.

"The vehicle took several secondary streets during the pursuit, at one point turning from Webster Avenue onto Hammond Street, and went through a parking lot of business, striking a large, decorative rock pillar, flattening a tire and losing the front bumper in the process," the release stated.
